Happy Valley Farm has a great selection of Lavender plants from around the world! When at all possible we get seed directly from England, France and Europe from traveling friends or overseas seed houses. Most are species varieties, not hybrids, and include landscape and field varieties. See Propagation List for current selection.
Our worldly selection of plants means that we have Lavender in many colourful varieties, and to suit varying climates. Lavender plant selection is best in July when the potted plants are in bloom and customers can choose easily, even without any Latin identification. Lavender plants can be planted in your garden almost any month in Victoria, as long as the soil is not frozen or flooded. For the drier summer months, prepare and pre water your planting hole. You will need to give your new planting extra attention at any time of the year until they are "established" or well rooted in their new "home", this usually takes about 6 months. Only then can they be termed "drought tolerant".
Lavender plants are only available right from Happy Valley Farm, we do not send them through the mail. Some are available in limited quantities only. We welcome advance orders where we custom grow by seed or cuttings from our established Lavender, for your Lavender collection or gardens. To make an advance order, you may contact us by phone at 250-474-5767 or e-mail lynda@happyvalleylavender.com. (We do not ship plants into the USA at any time because of the possible soil contamination as regulated by the Agricultural Board)
For Lavender aficionados, we carry a selection of: "Sweet Lavenders"; (Lavandula angustifolias); the historic "Monks Lavender"; (Lavandula spica or L. latifolia); "Spanish Lavenders"; (Lavandula stoeachas); AND the popular Lavandins that are all the rage right now (a hybrid developed by breeding the sweet Lavender and the monks Lavender).
